Introduction to E&I Plan
The Evaluation and Inspection (E&I) Plan is a core component of the Unit Maintenance Standardization & Evaluation Program (MSEP). As mandated by DAFI 21-101 Chapter 6, Quality Assurance (QA) is responsible for creating this plan, outlining the number of approved areas and types of inspections to be completed within a specific timeframe.
The EQuAD system facilitates this process, offering monthly or quarterly planning periods at the wing level. For guidance on selecting the appropriate E&I Plan period, always consult your MAJCOM. The E&I Plan itself is developed from the "Master RIL" provided by your MAJCOM, supplemented by local requirements ("Local RIL") specific to your wing.
EQuAD Functionality and Access
EQuAD provides robust features for E&I Planning, including plan creation, supervisory review and coordination, and final approval by the MXG commander. While access to the E&I Plan is restricted to QA Superintendent and QA Chief Inspector Roles, other personnel involved in the review and approval process will have read-only access.
E&I Plan Development Stages
The E&I Plan development process involves several key stages:
- Plan creation
- Mapping inspections to specific work centers
- Assigning an inspection type and month to each inspection item
- Generating the plan for the required month or quarter
- E&I Plan coordination (review process)
- E&I Plan approval by the MXG
Once the E&I Plan receives approval for the designated period, it becomes accessible to QA inspectors for execution.
