Introduction to RIL
The RIL (RIL) is an internal document, generated by the Air Force (AF), MAJCOMs, or various units, detailing routine inspections that must be conducted by their subordinate units/wings. EQuAD possesses a comprehensive suite of features dedicated to the development and administration of RILs. Access to these management capabilities is restricted to individuals holding a MAJCOM-level Role, though personnel with lower Roles may access RILs in a read-only capacity. In EQuAD, RILs created at the MAJCOM level are often referred to as “Master” RILs. Wings have the flexibility to establish their own RIL requirements, which complement the "Master" RIL. This can be done by selecting the Local RILs option within the Configuration screen.
After a RIL (RIL) is published, units and wings can use it as the foundation for their Evaluation and Inspection (E&I) plans. RILs progress through distinct statuses: Draft (in development), Scheduled (published but not yet active), Active (currently in effect), and Superseded (archived for viewing).
Critically, when new RILs are being developed, users will have access to valuable data from previous inspection cycles, such as pass rates for individual inspections. This feedback loop enables users to make data-driven decisions, refining future RIL inspection requirements based on past performance. Refer to Chapter 6 of DAFI 21-101 for comprehensive details regarding Routine Inspection Lists.
