Add a new RIL
The instructions below assume you have an Access Role that allows you to perform these actions. If you aren't able to follow the instructions as written, please check with your Admin to make sure you have the correct access.
You can create a new Routine Inspection List (RIL) in two ways: either build it from the ground up or make a copy of (clone) an existing RIL.
Creating a new RIL: This process involves generating an empty RIL initially. Subsequently, individual inspection items must be added to the RIL until it is complete.
Cloning an existing RIL: This option allows for the creation of a new RIL that inherits all inspection requirements from a selected RIL. This eliminates the need to build a new RIL entirely and allows for modifications as necessary. Refer to the Cloning a RIL procedure.
Creating a new RIL
1.- Click on the Routine Inspection Lists item on the EQuAD main menu.

2.- To create a new Routine Inspection List (RIL), start by clicking the Add New RIL button on the Routine Inspection screen. This screen displays both current and past RILs.

3.- Enter the following information:
4.- - Name (required) - When naming your RIL, choose a clear and descriptive title that will be easily understood by all users. This name will be used when creating their inspection plans
- Description (optional) - Further detailed information will be provided here
- Effective Date (required) - Choose the effective date for the Routine Inspection List (RIL). Once the RIL is published, its status will automatically update to "Active" on this selected date
5.- To save, click on the Add new Routine Inspection List button

6.- On this step, you will be adding inspection requirements to the newly created RIL, which you will see listed on the main RIL page. Select View Inspections on the contextual menu of the newly created RIL

7.- Enter the following information for each inspection item that you want to add to the RIL.
- Inspection Category (required) - Select the category for the inspection. Categories are managed on the main configuration screen.
- Inspection Area (required) - Select the area within the category. Areas are managed on the areas tab within the category on the main configuration screen.
- Name (required) - Enter the name of the inspection.
- Description (optional) - Enter any detailed information.
- Frequency (required) - Select how often this inspection should be performed.
- AQL (required) - Enter a quantity for an Acceptable Quality Limit
- Is Ratio Based (optional) - For inspections involving multiple items like toolboxes or aircraft forms, you can enable the "Is Ratio Based" option. Turning this feature on establishes a ratio between the Acceptable Quality Limit (AQL) and the number of items to be inspected. Consequently, when inspection results are entered and the number of items inspected are different than that of the established requirement, the AQL is automatically calculated. This option is off by default.
- Number of Items to Inspect (required if ratio based) - This field appears only when "Is Ratio Based" is turned on. Enter the specific number of items that need to be inspected. Examples: 15 pages of aircraft forms, 50 tools
- Apply only to These Mission Design Series (Optional) - If this inspection is specific to certain Mission Design Series (MDS), choose them from the provided list. MDS are configured on the main EQuAD settings page. By default, this field is blank, meaning the inspection applies to all MDS.

8.- Repeat steps 6 and 7 for each inspection item that you want to add to the RIL.
9.- Congrats, you have created a RIL! Your new RIL will initially be in "Draft" status after creation. To make it available, you need to "Publish" the RIL. Refer to the Publishing a RIL procedure
Cloning an Existing RIL
A new RIL cannot be cloned if an existing RIL is in "Draft" status. This cloning limitation is in place to prevent conflicts or duplication of drafts. Ensure any RIL drafts are finalized or removed before attempting to clone a new one.
Choose the Routine Inspection List (RIL) you want to duplicate by selecting the “Clone” item on the contextual menu

After cloning a RIL, the new RIL will be visible alongside existing ones. Its title will be a duplicate of the original RIL's title with the addition of the word "Cloned".

After cloning, modify the Routine Inspection List (RIL) by updating the Name, Description, and Effective Date. You can also revise the inspections within this RIL as necessary. Refer to the Editing/Updating a RIL procedure.
