QA Inspector

As a QA Inspector, you're responsible for documenting the inspections you conduct and logging any observations you make along the way. EQuAD tracks several distinct types of inspections, and knowing which one applies keeps your Chief Inspector's review moving without back and forth.

Document a scheduled inspection

Most of your inspections come from your Wing's E&I Plan. These are inspections your Chief Inspector has already scheduled for the current period, based on the master RIL and any local inspection tasks your Wing has added. You'll find them waiting for you in Inspection Tasks each month.

Document an ad hoc inspection

Sometimes you need to conduct an inspection that isn't on the E&I Plan at all. Ad hoc inspections follow the same documentation and review process as scheduled inspections, but they don't count toward MSEP scoring.

Document a KTL inspection

A KTL inspection is triggered when a shop performs a maintenance action tied to a Key Task List item, such as an engine installation. Unlike scheduled or ad hoc inspections, KTL inspections are mandatory call-ins. A shop must notify you any time it performs a KTL-listed maintenance action, so you can evaluate it.

Log an observation

Not everything you notice fits neatly into a scheduled inspection. If you observe a safety or technical violation outside the context of a formal inspection, whether an unsafe act, missing technical data, or an unsatisfactory condition, you log it as an observation instead.

You're ready

Once you've documented your inspections and logged any observations, your Chief Inspector reviews them and marks them complete. If you need to make corrections after submitting, check with your Chief Inspector before the item moves out of Evaluation status.
